Attendance & Participation Policy

Attendance and active participation are graded conditions of completion, because the program is 70% hands-on and team-based.

ATTENDANCE REQUIREMENTS
- Students must attend at least [90]% of scheduled sessions to be eligible for the certificate of completion.
- The capstone (Week 16) and the midterm week (Week 8) are mandatory; an unexcused absence from either requires an instructor-approved make-up before completion is granted.
- Lab sessions that establish a safety or authorization baseline (Week 1 ethics agreement, Week 7 ROE) must be attended or fully made up before further lab access is allowed.

EXCUSED VS. UNEXCUSED
- Excused: illness, family emergency, military/jury duty, or prior arrangement approved by the instructor. Documentation may be requested.
- Unexcused: any absence not communicated and approved. [3] unexcused absences trigger an academic-status review.
- Tardiness beyond [15] minutes or leaving early counts as a half absence unless pre-arranged.
