Each track teaches the same case from a different seat in the room. Scoring, task ownership and role boundaries change with the track you select. A mentor or administrator can reassign your track at any time.
Observation-first pathway covering operating-room workflow, sterile behavior, anatomy, equipment recognition and safety judgment.
Authority: Observation and documentation only. No sterile or clinical task authority.
Review chain: Mentor → surgeon evaluator → program administrator
Verification, room and implant readiness, time-out leadership, medication safety, counts, traceability and PACU handoff.
Authority: Owns verification, room readiness, time-out facilitation, medication and implant traceability, counts and documentation. Surgeon holds final clinical authority.
Review chain: Charge nurse mentor → surgeon evaluator → program administrator
Sterile field construction, Triathlon tray recognition, instrument sequencing, sharps accountability, counts and decontamination.
Authority: Owns the sterile field, instrument readiness and safe passing. Reports every sterility and accountability concern. No clinical decision authority.
Review chain: Lead technologist mentor → surgeon evaluator → program administrator
Exposure, tissue protection, trial-reduction observation, implant read-back and closure under explicit mentor authorization.
Authority: Assists under direct supervision. May not independently select resection, alignment, ligament release, implant constraint, polyethylene thickness or medication, or independently accept an intraoperative complication.
